Q: What is Chat with a Librarian?
A: Chat with a librarian is a live chat service where librarians answer your questions, 24/7.
Q: How does Chat work?
A: Simply LAUNCH CHAT and then enter your question. A librarian will respond. It might take 10 to 15 minutes for an answer and sometimes more.
Q: What if my question takes a long time to research?
A: If more time is needed to answer your question, a librarian may ask for your email address so that the answer can be sent to you later.
Q: Can I get a transcript of my Chat?
A: Enter an e-mail address (at the beginning or end of your session), and you will automatically receive a copy of your Chat at the end of the session.
Q: Can I keep my Chat confidential?
A: You do not have to use your real name or enter your email. If you want a copy of your transcript sent to you, you can provide an email address at the end of the Chat.
Q: Why am I being blocked from Chat?
Q: How do I ask a question anonymously?
A: Do not enter an email address at the beginning of the CHAT. This allows you to remain anonymous.
Librarian was very nice and got me the resource I needed almost immediately.
I have learned so many searching tools and tricks that have saved me hours of sorting through websites.
My librarian found each of the three articles I needed, in Full-Text, and sent them to me right away.
Easy to use at any time of day.
This live chat is very helpful and helps me find my things I need fast.
I gave my librarian very little information and she found exactly what I needed.
The librarian that helped me found the sources that I needed very quick.
I just want to say how grateful I am. I have a huge paper due next week and I was totally lost trying to figure out my citations. I used your Chat service and the librarian I connected with went above and beyond. I’ll absolutely be using your service again and recommending it to friends.
