This collection contains images of limited edition, hand-printed linocut holiday cards that were made by folk artist Mary Hamilton who lived and worked throughout her career more in Clarion County, was well-known in the area, and made many contributions to the culture in Western Pennsylvania. She made these holiday cards annually for over 20 years and sent them to close personal friends. Dr. Charles Marlin, a friend of the artist and recipient of the cards, donated the original cards that show the evolution of Mary Hamilton's work. less
This collection of approximately 29,000 postcards from the 1880s to the 1970s includes images from across the U.S. and all 67 Pennsylvania counties and highlights cities, more towns, buildings, local businesses and industries, parks, and scenic and street views. Additional images include business and industry advertising, highways, states, and foreign countries. less
The collection consists of Geneva College postcards. The initial set of images consists of 28 postcards, showing campus buildings in photographs and artistic renderings. Dates of more the material ranges from approximately the 1920s to the late 1990s to early 2000, though the majority of the collection is older. Some interesting highlights of the collection are: the college hill train station, now a dilapidated structure, a picture of the college’s original location in Northwook, Ohio, and postcards from the 75th anniversary of Beaver Falls. less
